Kwik-Fit Fleet has capped its 25th anniversary year by being named Supplier of the Year in the 2012 Awards from industry publication Fleet Van.
It is the 77th industry award since the business was launched as a specialist division of the UK’s largest fast-fit company in 1987 and comes in a year when Kwik-Fit has invested heavily in its light commercial vehicle service to fleets.
Japanese-headquartered Itochu Corporation acquired Kwik-Fit 18 months ago and its ownership has been marked by significant investment in the business, which has also included staff training to further improve fleet service levels.
In naming Kwik-Fit Fleet as Supplier of the Year, the independent panel of judges declared: “Substantial investment has given Kwik-Fit a leading position in the independent van service, maintenance and repair and tyre replacement sector.
“It has dedicated a lot of time and effort to the people side of the business which has resulted in outstanding levels of customer service. The judges were impressed by Kwik-Fit’s heavy investment in training staff – vital to improving service standards.”
The award was presented to Peter Lambert, Fleet Director for Kwik-Fit, in a ceremony at top London restaurant Altitude 360, on Wednesday (December 5).
Kwik-Fit is the dominant provider of fast-fit services to the UK corporate sector and this year has been marked by a major investment in its light commercial vehicle tyre fitting proposition and in expanding its range of mechanical services to fleets as the number of vans on the UK’s roads continues to rapidly rise, notably due to home deliveries caused by huge increases in internet shopping.
