F J Need Foods of Nantwich, the specialist dairy products supplier, has taken delivery of two Cool Liner refrigerated trailers from Krone Trailers UK which, say the company, are expected to be virtually cost-free to operate.
Established in 1973 as a buyer and re seller of cheese blocks to local corner shops, FJ Need Foods, still family run, has expanded into a £35m turnover business supplying grated and sliced cheeses to wholesalers, caterers and food manufacturers throughout the UK and into Europe.
“Our company has built its success on providing the highest quality products and in turn we rely on high calibre suppliers to help make this possible”. Says Fleet Transport Manager, Simon Platt. “In this regard, we chose Krone because they are simply a better standard of temperature controlled trailer and are very cost- effective to run. These two trailers will be with us for three years and I don’t expect to see many maintenance bills!”
The Cool Liners will operate at zero degrees and deliver to numerous towns and cities throughout the UK and Europe. Each trailer remains with the same tractor and driver thereby ensuring maximum accountability and control.
For improved appearance and aerodynamics, the trailers are fitted with side skirts and alloy wheels and carry the distinctive FJ Need Foods livery.
“We originally had one Krone trailer” adds Simon“ and it proved to be a valuable asset. The drivers liked it and it was definitely built to last. This time round, we decided to repeat our investment in a quality product with the full knowledge that we can expect reliability and low cost of ownership.
