At MAN Truck & Bus, 499 new trainees in 14 professions will start the new training year in September 2025 at the three major German production sites in Munich, Nuremberg and Salzgitter, as well as at the German service centres. In addition, there will be 23 dual students. Across all age groups, this means that almost 1,600 young women and men are in training or dual study programmes at MAN. The company is thus making an important contribution to securing skilled workers and investing in the future of its German locations.
Demand for training places at MAN was again very high this year – and all positions were filled. Hubert Altschäffl, Chief Human Resources Officer at MAN Truck & Bus SE: ‘We are delighted that MAN continues to be a very attractive employer for young people. We not only offer excellent vocational training, but also the opportunity to help shape the mobility of the future.’ Training at MAN is also becoming increasingly attractive for women: in Salzgitter, female trainees now make up 40 per cent of the new intake. Overall, the proportion of women in training at MAN is more than twelve per cent.
“With a view to future topics such as electromobility and digitalisation, we are continuously developing our training programmes. As a result, the focus of training is shifting noticeably towards automation and mechatronics. The job profile of automotive mechatronics engineers has also changed significantly in recent years: at MAN, they are not only specialists in networked vehicle systems, but also in high-voltage battery technology,” says Stefan Thyssen, Head of Academy & Talent.
