The Enviro200 is the first Alexander Dennis buses for the family-run business, which has been operating for over 60 years and is based at Mount Hawke near Truro right at the heart of Cornwall.
At 8.9m length and with a compact wheelbase of just 3.9m, the Enviro200 is ideal for Hopley’s Coaches local bus services as part of the Transport for Cornwall partnership, which travel along narrow and winding country lanes. It has 30 seats including five tip-ups in the wheelchair and buggy bays, and is fitted with latest accessible information technology including audio-visual next-stop announcement and induction hearing loops.
Rob Hopley, part of the fourth generation of the business’s founding family, said: “When we were looking to invest in our local bus fleet, the Enviro200 was recommended to us by other operators using the type which gave us confidence to choose the Alexander Dennis product. Our new bus has now been performing steadily in service for a couple of months and is loved by our passengers as well as our drivers and engineers, confirming our choice.”
Mark Taylor, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Hopley’s Coaches to Alexander Dennis with their first Enviro200. This compact, efficient vehicle is perfectly suited to Cornwall’s rural routes, and it’s fantastic to hear it’s already making a positive impact for both passengers and staff. Supporting operators like Hopley’s in delivering reliable, accessible transport is at the heart of what we do.”
