Alexander Dennis announced that it has delivered another double-deck Enviro400 to English operator Al’s Coaches of Birkenhead.
Al’s Coaches, also known as Happy Al’s, will use the vehicle on its local school routes around the Liverpool area, as well as private hire.
Painted white for the operator’s usual ‘Happy Al’s’ livery, the bus is fitted with 85 seats, all with three-point belts and USB charging points. It has a public address system and is fully PSVAR-compliant.
The vehicle has been bought to upgrade the operator’s bus fleet, which includes four Enviro400 double-deckers and two Enviro200 single-deckers, all bought new.
Most recently Al’s Coaches took delivery of two Enviro400 buses in 2024, following two Enviro200 in 2021.
Established in 1972 with a single minibus, today Al’s Coaches runs an immaculate fleet of 62 coaches and buses of all sizes. It carries out a large variety of work across Merseyside and beyond, including school contracts, corporate and private hire, and holidays and tours.
A family business, it was founded by Thomas Cullinan, and is currently run by his children Christopher, Mark and Sandra, with third-generation members of the family working in the business as well.
Al’s Coaches Director Mark Cullinan said: “We’re very happy with the Enviro400 buses we’ve bought in the past: they’re great people-movers, they’re comfortable and drive very well, and our customers love them. The Alexander Dennis team are great to work with both before and after purchase. The Enviro400 was the obvious choice for upgrading our bus fleet.”
Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, said: “I’m delighted to hand this bus over to Al’s Coaches, a valued customer of ours whose vehicles are kept beautifully and are a familiar and cherished sight around Merseyside.
“Many thanks to the Cullinan family for choosing Alexander Dennis again.”
