The ID. Buzz is electrifying the global VW Bus community. It combines spaciousness and an iconic design with an efficient, all-electric drive, transporting the Volkswagen Bus feeling into the modern era. The ID. Buzz is now receiving a comprehensive update with a host of new functions on board, thanks to the latest software generation. These include a vehicle-to-load function, meaning it will now be possible to continuously supply 2.0 kW of power to external devices such as electric grills or e-bikes. Additionally, it is receiving an enhanced Connected Travel Assist with automatic traffic light recognition as well as one-pedal driving, where the vehicle recuperates until it comes to a standstill.
More flexibility thanks to vehicle-to-load: The new software generation introduces the vehicle-to-load function in the ID. Buzz. It enables electrical devices to be powered directly from the vehicle battery. The high-voltage battery can be used to continuously operate or charge external devices with 2.0 kW via the Mode 3 connection of the charging socket using an adapter. This makes it possible, for example, to charge e-bikes directly at the ID. Buzz on a weekend trip.
Connected Travel Assist with traffic light recognition: A new evolutionary stage of Travel Assist will also be optionally available for the ID. Buzz. Given the system’s use of a wide range of online data, it has been renamed Connected Travel Assist. The enhanced assist system now also reacts to traffic lights – if the system detects a red traffic light, it automatically brakes the ID. Buzz to a standstill.1 Another new feature is one-pedal driving, which enables rapid deceleration of the VW Bus to a standstill through regulation of the accelerator alone.1
Infotainment with new services: The new Innovision infotainment system will also be used in the ID. Buzz. A new app store is integrated into the system, which allows functions and services to be activated or expanded digitally, flexibly and on a vehicle-specific basis. Just like with a smartphone, popular apps are available for download here – covering audio to video streaming, parking, charging and gaming.Operation of the ID. Buzz is further improved by a multifunction steering wheel with newly designed buttons.
