Welsh operator Lloyds Coaches upgrades fleet

Alexander Dennis announced that Lloyds Coaches of Mid Wales has once again upgraded its fleet with an Enviro200 single-deck bus.

It’s the eighth new Enviro200 Lloyds has bought since 2024. At 8.9m, its length is perfect for local routes around the tight lanes and villages of Mid Wales, while the customer has also been very impressed with the fuel economy of the Enviro200’s four-cylinder Cummins engine.

The new bus is fitted with Alexander Dennis’s own SmartPack efficiency technology, which means it qualifies as a low-emission bus. It seats 30, with seatbelts fitted at all fixed seats.

It also has a real-time passenger information system, and an induction loop for the hard of hearing, making it fully PSVAIR compliant.

Founded in Machynlleth by Wyn Lloyd, Lloyds Coaches is a family-owned coach operator currently celebrating its 25th year in business. The operator prides itself on high levels of customer service and Welsh hospitality, running a full range of private hire services as well as a network of local bus services between Bangor, Aberystwyth, Tywyn, Newtown, Machynlleth, Dolgellau and Porthmadog.

Dan Lloyd, General Manager at Lloyds Coaches, said: “We’ve been buying Alexander Dennis for years, and are very happy with all our Enviro200 buses, so to upgrade the fleet with another one just made sense.

“Their reliability and fuel economy, as well as the round-the-clock support with AD24, give us complete and ongoing security in our bus operations. And we know how much our passengers appreciate our modern, comfortable and accessible Enviro200 vehicles.”

Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager at Alexander Dennis, said: “It’s with great pleasure that we deliver further Alexander Dennis product into the fleet of Lloyds Coaches.

“I have worked with the Lloyds team for 20 years now, since their first purchase back in 2006, and as always, they’ve been wonderful to deal with. Thanks so much to Wyn, Dan and the team for their continued faith in Alexander Dennis. We’re very proud to see another Enviro200 among the lovely scenery of Mid Wales.”
