The 12,210 mm-long test vehicle provided in Adriatic blue has a 6-cylinder OM 936 in-line engine producing 260 kW (354 hp) and a maximum torque of 1400 Nm at 1200 rpm. The intercity bus is equipped with a ZF Ecolife 2 6-speed automatic transmission with torque converter. The 48-volt hybrid system supports the combustion engine, for example when moving off, ensuring high levels of efficiency for the drive system.
45 passengers can be accommodated on the “Setra Transit” seats. All passenger seats are equipped with two-point seatbelts. There is a designated space for a wheelchair, including a securing option, in the special-purpose area opposite the central door. Mobile devices can be charged at the double USB sockets on each double seat.
The Setra MultiClass S 515 LE test bus has numerous safety and assistance systems. These include Preventive Brake Assist 2, Brake Assist (BAS), Lane Assistant (SPA), Sideguard Assist 2, Frontguard Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Attention Assist (AtAS), 360° camera system and the electronic parking brake with Hold function. An underride guard is integrated into the skeleton as a passive safety element.
