MAN continues to invest in Poland

MAN Truck & Bus is consistently advancing its growth and transformation strategy and continues to invest in its Kraków site. These investments are based on the agreement reached with the works council as part of the MAN2030+ future program, under which, amongst other things, investments in the next generation of vehicles within the European production network were agreed. The projects now approved put these plans into practice.

During a visit by the Polish Minister for the Economy and Finance, Andrzej Doma?ski, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed covering investments of approximately 1.2 billion euros, extending well into the next decade. Until 2030, the initial focus will be on expanding the Kraków plant, preparing the next generation of trucks based on the TRATON Modular System (TMS), and strengthening production capacity.

Kraków as a strategic production hub within the MAN network

Specifically, this initially involves establishing body-in-white and paint shop operations as well as the expansion of cab assembly activities. To this end, additional state-of-the-art and sustainable production facilities are being built for the manufacture of painted truck bodies. Once the expansion projects are complete, the production area will roughly double from 130,000 m² today to 270,000 m². This will enable MAN to significantly increase the depth of value creation at the site and lay the groundwork for the production of the next generation of vehicles. At the same time, the company is strengthening Kraków’s role and creating the foundation for further growth and additional jobs in the region. Further investments in future-oriented products are planned for a later date.

Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus: “With these investments in Poland, we are further expanding our presence in Europe. Kraków has played an important role in our production network for many years. The expansion into a full-scale manufacturing plant and the start of series production of our electric light-duty truck range position us strongly for the ongoing transformation of the industry and prepare us well for the future.”

Electrification of the portfolio and plants

Alongside the expansion of manufacturing operations, MAN is launching production of additional fully electric vehicles in Kraków. From mid-July 2026, the MAN eTGL will be produced entirely at the site. With the production of the light-duty MAN eTGL and the medium-duty MAN eTGM, Kraków will become MAN’s second electrified truck production site after Munich, where the heavy-duty electric MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS are manufactured.

As a result, MAN will offer a comprehensive fully electric truck portfolio ranging from 12 to 50 tonnes, covering all common transport applications – from light urban distribution to heavy long-haul transport.

Michael Kobriger, Executive Board Member for Production and Logistics, emphasizes the great significance of the new truck series: “The launch of the MAN eTGL is another important milestone on the path to zero-emission mobility. This is about much more than just the truck: it’s about an innovative product and a reliable service offering that provides our customers with optimal support during this transformation.”
