The VoltWorx event at Plumpton brought together representatives from a broad range of manufacturers, technology providers, educators and sustainability specialists, with more than 150 delegates from local authorities, education, professional sport, ground care and fleet organisations.
The first European production Electric Vehicle pick-up to offer over a one-tonne payload as well as permanent four-wheel drive and 3.5 tonne towing capacity, the Isuzu D-Max EVs impressed visitors to VoltWorx26. Delegates enjoyed test drives with Crawfords Group Isuzu, West Sussex, and took the opportunity to discuss features such as lower running costs, ecologically considerate and quiet performance, and the tax efficiencies of an electric pick-up, including lower benefit-in-kind company car tax.
With a focus on sustainability, guests networked and enjoyed keynote presentations from the Energy Saving Trust and Brighton and Hove FC. Panel discussions and breakout sessions explored industry perspectives on sustainability and the adoption of electrified vehicles and machinery. Topics included charging infrastructure, total cost of ownership, workforce skills and the practical implementation of new technology.
“We’re delighted the new Isuzu D-Max EV continues to receive a high level of interest at events like this following its launch this year, with our zero-emission pick-up now being delivered to customers within diverse environments where sustainability, low operating costs and tax efficiencies are sought after,” said Alan Able, Managing Director of Isuzu UK. “Congratulations to Crawfords Group on their initiative in organising an event such as VoltWorx26.”
“The launch of the Isuzu D-Max EV pick-up is an important new option for businesses that want to reduce emissions without moving away from the capability they expect from a working pick-up,” said Wes Crawford, Managing Director of Crawfords Group. “With full-time four-wheel drive, a one-tonne payload and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, it demonstrates that electrification can be practical for demanding commercial and fleet operations. VoltWorx 26 gave customers the opportunity to explore such developments and have honest conversations about where electric vehicles can work within their businesses.”
