Additives brand, Cataclean, has helped EMS Waste Services Ltd, a leading waste management and recycling company in the Southwest, improve fuel efficiency and reduce diesel particulate filter (DPF) issues across its HGV fleet.
Operating a fleet of approximately 50 waste collection vehicles, EMS Waste Services began trialling Cataclean to assess whether it could make measurable improvements to fuel usage and vehicle performance.
The results were immediate. Following the initial trial, the company rolled out Cataclean across its entire fleet, incorporating it as part of its regular maintenance programme. Today, Cataclean is added during each vehicle inspection, every eight weeks.
Jack Stuart, Director at EMS Waste Services, explained: “We trialled Cataclean in a small number of our HGVs to see if we could reduce fuel usage. We were impressed with the trial results and therefore rolled it out to the rest of the fleet.
“We have also noticed since using Cataclean we have experienced fewer issues with diesel particulate filters – saving us timely and costly repairs! We would 100 percent recommend Cataclean to other HGV operators and really do believe it is a great product.”
Cataclean’s patented 8-in-1 fuel and exhaust system cleaner is designed to reduce harmful emissions, improve fuel economy and help prevent costly engine and DPF-related failures. Its simple ‘pour-and-go’ application makes it ideal for commercial operators, helping to extend engine life, optimise performance and reduce downtime caused by blocked or inefficient exhaust systems – ultimately saving time and money.
Maddie Bamber, Key Account Manager at Cataclean, commented: “We’re delighted to see EMS Waste Services achieving tangible results with Cataclean. For fleet operators, reliability and efficiency are critical, and Cataclean offers a proven, cost-effective solution that fits seamlessly into regular maintenance schedules. Over time, that can translate into reduced fuel costs, fewer DPF issues and improved overall fleet performance.”
With emissions regulations tightening and operators under increasing pressure to improve sustainability and reduce running costs, Cataclean is fast becoming the number one tool for fleet operators.
