Trafford Housing Trust is rolling state-of–the-art vehicle tracking out to 80 of its housing maintenance vehicles.
Having identified that the technology could significantly increase the efficiency of its fleet, the housing association put a requirement for vehicle tracking out to tender and ultimately chose Navman Wireless as its provider of choice.
Once installed, the system will help the organisation cut fuel usage and improve its service to tenants who occupy more than 9000 homes throughout the Trafford area.
“The traditional complexities involved in keeping track and organising the routes of a large number of vehicles have often hindered our ability to operate as efficiently and effectively as we’d like,” said Steve Coakley, Procurement & Fleet Co-ordinator, Trafford Housing Trust.
“With tracking technology though, we’ll be able to monitor the real time movements of our fleet on the online software, ensuring we’re getting the right maintenance vehicle to the right job as quickly as possible.”
In addition to reducing fuel bills through better vehicle distribution, tracking will give the affordable housing provider valuable insights into their fleet with information such as vehicle speeds, maintenance reports and live traffic data.
“When we decided to press ahead with plans to install tracking, we were looking for an experienced supplier that offered a comprehensive package at a competitive price and that’s exactly what we found with Navman Wireless,” concluded Steve.
Tony Neill, Navman Wireless Executive Vice President, added: “The benefits of vehicle tracking aren’t just reserved for large private sector companies.
“Businesses large and small, from all industries and sectors, have demonstrated the positive impact tracking can have on fleet efficiency and we’re delighted that Trafford Housing Trust has become the latest not-for-profit organisation to place its trust in the technology.”
