Trapeze Group has launched a new Internet-based system which streamlines the process of producing, maintaining and exporting bus schedule data.
The Trapeze National Public Transport (NPT) Data Manager makes it simple for Local Authority transport managers to import electronic and paper bus service registrations; maintain this data thereafter; generate and maintain printed timetables; and share data with downstream ‘consumers’ such as Traveline and mobile Apps.
Integrated NaPTAN data management and validation ensures accuracy of data, while the intuitive processes reduce the time and cost associated with these tasks.
Key to NPT Data Manager’s innovative approach is its secure online platform, which ensures it is quick and easy for users to get started, while support for open data standards encourages collaborative work with neighbouring authorities. This online platform also removes the need for complex hardware, so there are no prohibitive up-front costs; the entire system licensed via an affordable monthly fee.
NPT Data Manager is currently operational in the Isle of Wight where Stewart Chandler (Transport Officer) is delighted with its performance. “The new system has simplified our IT needs and gives us the opportunity to manage our services and NaPTAN data using the latest technology,” says Stewart.
Trapeze Group’s Managing Director in the UK, Peter Bell, commented: “NPT Data Manager takes our clients’ bus service management to the next level; streamlining their processes and saving them time and money.”
