538 young talents start training and dual studies at MAN

MAN Chief Human Resources Officer Hubert Altschäffl: “Offering young talent excellent vocational training and the opportunity to help shape the mobility of the future.

At MAN Truck & Bus, 511 new apprentices in 14 professions will start the new training year in September 2024 at the three major German production sites in Munich, Nuremberg and Salzgitter as well as in the German service operations. There will also be 27 dual students. Across all age groups, almost 1,500 young men and women are currently undergoing training or dual studies at MAN. The company is thus making an important contribution to securing a skilled workforce and investing in the future of its German sites.

Hubert Altschäffl, Chief Human Resources Officer of MAN Truck & Bus SE: “We offer young talents excellent vocational training and the special opportunity to help shape the mobility of the future. We are delighted that MAN continues to be a very attractive employer for young people, even in times of a shortage of skilled workers – as the latest figures for new talents joining us this year show.”
“With a view to future topics that are so crucial for our company and the entire industry, such as electromobility and digitalization, we have once again further developed our training opportunities this year. The focus of training is currently shifting noticeably towards automation and mechatronics,” says Head of Training Andreas Herthum.

Many of the apprenticeships focus on the transformation of the commercial vehicle industry and the megatrends of electrification, digitalization and automation. For example, many employees are training to become “electronics technicians for automation technology”, who play a key role in the further development of production areas towards “Industry 4.0”, are aiming to become “digitalization management specialists” or “IT specialists for digital networking / production processes”. The job profile of automotive mechatronics technicians has changed considerably in recent years: At MAN, they are not only specialists in networked vehicle systems, but also in high-voltage battery technology.
