‘Colin’s Changed’ campaign promotes benefits of electric vans for tradespeople

Renault Trucks UK & Ireland has launched a new multimedia campaign, titled ‘Colin’s Changed,’ to highlight the advantages for tradespeople of switching to electric vans.

The campaign centres around the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic, an electric van designed to meet the needs of tradespeople, combining cost-efficiency, range, payload and quietness.

The humorous film, which launched on YouTube on 14 October, portrays a relatable tradesperson discussing how his workmate, Colin, has noticeably changed for the better after getting an electric van. With a light-hearted tone that reflects the typical British sense of humour, the advert highlights the key benefits of the E-Tech Trafic, including:

  • Low operating costs with no compromise on performance
  • Payload of up to 1.16 tonnes
  • Quietness, making it ideal for early morning starts that keep the neighbours happy
  • Up to 394km range[1], providing flexibility for tradespeople on the move

As part of the campaign, Renault Trucks is also offering an attractive 0% finance deal for 12 months, available until 31 December 2024. Additionally, customers can opt for a low-rate finance offer, which includes a Mobilize home charger or ChargeCard worth £750 supporting tradespeople as they transition to electric vans.

Alex Williams, Head of Brand & Communications at Renault Trucks UK & Ireland, commented: “We want to show tradespeople that switching to electric vans, like the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic, is a great choice for their business. While the tone of our campaign is light-hearted, the message is serious: The E-Tech Trafic offers all the performance and reliability they need, with the added advantage of lower operating costs and zero emissions, making it a smart investment for any business.” With a fully integrated campaign spanning social media, PR, and display advertising, Renault Trucks aims to raise awareness of the practical benefits of electric vans for tradespeople, offering a compelling case for making the switch.
