B&M Waste Services (B&M), a leading independent waste management company, has chosen Farid, once again, to provide its front line service vehicles. The company provides total waste management solutions, designed to meet environmental and legislative obligations for its customers and prides itself on quality of service.

B&M’s success has been attributed to high standards throughout the business, and most notably, its service. These high standards are monitored and maintained by Farid front line service vehiclethree of the most stringent quality, environmental and health and safety management systems; to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. B&M offers a range of services to its customers throughout the UK including: recycling, bulk trade collections, commercial trade collections and hazardous waste solutions. As quality of service is so important to the company, the vehicles that it chooses to deliver this service have to be reliable.

B&M has recently taken delivery of its first Farid T1SM 27m3 commercial and trade waste refuse collection REL and has a further three on order. These units join the existing 25 Farid heavy duty trade waste collection vehicles operating at B&M’s Bromborough and Manchester depots.

Paul Jarmay, Fleet Engineering Manager at B&M Waste Services says: “We have invested in Farid equipment because of its exemplary operating performance, it offers good reliability and durability, as well as keeping whole life costs to a minimum. Adding this to excellent UK after sales service support, means vehicle down time is kept to an absolute minimum. The Farid T1SM 27m3 REL is the latest addition to the versatile T1 range of rear end loading RCV equipments, now spanning 7m3 to 27m3, suitable for chassis cabs from 11 tonnes to 32 tonnes GVW. The T1SM 27m3 (32 tonne GVW) body and tailgate actually boasts 27.08m3 and 2.80m3 respectively, making it nearly 30m3 total capacity, one of the main features that attracted B&M to this heavy duty, high volume REL product.

The compaction tailgate consists of a solid articulated single-plate, moved by heavy duty anti-friction pads sliding on rails located in the tailgate walls. Carriage plate cylinders are located outside of the loading door, fully protected by opening covers. Hopper floors are constructed of Hardox anti wear steels and of high volume capacity to handle every type of waste collected. The unit supplied to B&M is fitted with a Farid Evolution Comb bin lift suitable for lifting all types of trade and commercial wheeled bins from 120 litres to 1100 litre capacity. The equipment is mounted on a Scania 8×2 rear steer chassis day cab for excellent manoeuvrability in congested areas and is plated at 32000kgs GVW. The supplying chassis dealer was Haydock Commercials.
