Carrier Transicold, which operates in the UK as Carrier Transicold UK, helps improve global transport and shipping temperature control with a complete line of equipment for refrigerated trucks, trailers and containers, and is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The new Carrier Transicold units are being mounted onto a mix of Montracon and Gray & Adams trailers, including 73 standard length 13.6 metre trailers and ten 14.6 metre Longer Semi-Trailers (LSTs). The Vector units are covered by an eight-year everCOLD™ service, maintenance and repair contract. It also gives Culina 24/7 access to Carrier’s new oneCALL™ emergency assistance service.

Each Vector 1550 unit combines an efficient 1.5 litre diesel engine with Carrier’s patented E-Drive™ technology and an economiser to deliver a low total cost of ownership. The Carrier Transicold units are able to integrate with Culina’s fleet telematics solution, providing the customer with access to temperature-critical information at any point in the journey.

Founded in 1994, Culina provides shared-user logistics services, including warehousing and distribution, from 17 sites across the UK and Ireland.
