Hellmann photosHellmann Worldwide Logistics UK, one of the leading freight forwarding and logistics providers in the country, has announced a major new contract with Hughes Europe, the European operating and sales organisation of Hughes Network Systems, LLC, the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services. Under the new contract Hellmann will offer a wide range of logistical solutions for the company involving air, sea and road freight, as well as working in close conjunction with Hughes Europe’s partners.

Hellmann will take control of the management of sea containers from the USA, while coordinating the movement of air freight shipments from Coinbrook to Lichfield. Hughes Europe’s warehouse activities – including storage, picking, scanning, stock-taking, cycle counting and packing – will also be included under the new contract, as Hellmann UK manages product logistics throughout the UK and Europe with dedicated and groupage vehicles.

Peter Reeves, Logistics Manager at Hughes Europe, commented: “Hellmann has offered Hughes Europe a logistics solution that suits the global nature of our business and will continue to help our expansion across Europe. They have proven experience in offering cost-effective logistics provision for large, global businesses, and these are attributes that align well with our company.”

Matthew Marriot, Commercial Director at Hellmann UK, said: “Hughes Europe is a thriving business and we are delighted that it has recognised Hellmann as able to provide the full range of logistics and freight forwarding services that it requires. Not only will this contract further consolidate the reputation of Hellmann UK across the Atlantic, it will also help Hughes expand its presence across Europe.”

Michael Harper, Logistics Manager at Hellmann UK, continued: “We always strive for new customers and new ways to prove the scope and precision of the Hellmann operation. With that in mind, it is wonderful news that Hughes Europe has chosen to enter into a contract that promises to be an extremely productive commercial relationship for both parties. This is obviously a difficult time for the industry, but with contracts as prestigious as this one, we feel that we are really bucking the trend of the current economic climate.”
