NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd has starred alongside many of the World’s leading automotive companies and two and four-wheel motorsport legends at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The leading supplier of original equipment (OE) spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda sensors exhibited at the four-day event which attracted tens of thousands of enthusiasts.
NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd is an OE supplier to most of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers (VMs), many of whom exhibited at Goodwood.
The company has also long been at the forefront of motorsport, supplying parts for two and four-wheel teams and competitors.
Marketing Manager Gerard Irving said: “As a major component manufacturer we feel it is important that we support such a fantastic event as the Festival of Speed which attracts tens of thousands of motorsport enthusiasts who we can then engage with and tell them more about our company and products.
“Our parts are used by many of the top motorsport teams because of their technical excellence and reliability; attributes that are also shared by the parts that are fitted to millions of vehicles that are driven on the UK’s roads.”
The 2014 Festival of Speed attracted a host of racing legends including former British F1 World champions John Surtees and Damon Hill as well as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, with the latter two then going off to compete in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone with Hamilton taking first place and Button finishing fourth.
NGK has been involved in F1 since 1964 and its racing spark plugs are used by teams that include McLaren Mercedes, Ferrari and Mercedes. It also supplies the Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team, which competes in the FIA World Rally Championship, Moto GP and Speedway riders and teams.
The company is also the title sponsor of the BRC Challenge Trophy. Now in its tenth year and forming part of the MSA British Rally Championship in 2014, this is the third consecutive year the company has been the title sponsor.
