Facts Magazine are getting behind this week which raises awareness and the Royal Blind School would like to encourage companies and individuals across Scotland to join us in raising funds to provide services for blind and visually impaired people of all ages.

To find out everything that is happening this week visit www.royalblind.org and below is a snippet of some of the things you can get involved with through the charity:

Blind For A Day (#Blind4Day):

We’re also trying to raise much-needed funds by asking people to take on the challenge of losing their sight, by getting sponsored to go ‘Blind For A Day’.

People can take part in whatever activity they want to, be it their favourite hobby like a gym class, trying to go out to their favourite restaurant and eat a meal blind-folded, host a blind-folded dinner party or just trying to put together an outfit and get dressed while blind-folded! The challenge can be anything from a full day, or a quick half hour at lunchtime, and Royal Blind will provide blindfolds and fundraising support.

Royal Blind Week Art Exhibition:

We are holding our first ever art exhibition and sale in Edinburgh’s Gallery Seventeen, with all funds raised going to Royal Blind. Leading international artists such as Peter Howson, Jolomo, Jonathan Freemantle and Marion Drummond have donated incredible art exclusively to Royal Blind, and people can drop in to the gallery all week to view it. The gallery is in Dundas Street.

Feel free to Tweet about your experiences too #RoyalBlindWeek
