Rygor, which represents the famous three-pointed star in Wiltshire, the Thames Valley and West London, was crowned Mercedes-Benz UK Commercial Vehicle After Sales Dealer of the Year at a ceremony in Berlin.

The company has made outstanding progress in developing creative strategies to provide truck and van operators with industry-leading standards of service. Its reward has been exceptionally high levels of customer satisfaction – as measured by the manufacturer – and impressive growth in its after sales business.

Despite an economic downturn that has hit the commercial vehicle market badly, and from which it is only now beginning to emerge, Rygor’s parts and service operations achieved a 10% increase in turnover during 2010, on top of the 7% they recorded in 2009.

It has, declared Liam Ilbury, Mercedes-Benz UK’s Director of Commercial Vehicle Customer Services, been a “remarkable” performance. “This award recognises Rygor’s consistent delivery of high levels of customer satisfaction and its proactive and customer-focused attitude towards finding creative solutions in the delivery of after sales service,” he said.

“The Rygor Commercials management team have embraced the principle of placing the customer at the heart of their business, and they truly deliver on the Mercedes-Benz promise: ‘We take care to be the best provider of after sales services to our customers’.”

A long-established and leading member of the manufacturer’s franchised UK truck and van dealer network, Rygor Commercials has headquarters in Westbury and other dealerships at Heathrow, Newbury, Reading, Salisbury and Swindon. It also operates Managed Workshop Facilities for two ‘blue chip’ customers: Massey Wilcox, in Chilcompton, Somerset, and those for Brake Bros in Highbridge, Nuneaton and Thorpe.

Rygor employs over 200 factory-trained technicians, parts specialists and other staff across its after sales operations. “Every one of them has played their part in helping Rygor Commercials to win this prestigious award,” confirmed Dealer Principal and Director Paul Reed. “We have a great team of people who have adopted new and innovative working practices with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and who understand that whatever the question, at Rygor the answer is always ‘yes’.”
