The Scania Interlink coach will be maintained by Scania Bridgwater
Taunton School has recently taken delivery of a Scania Interlink coach from Falcon Vehicle Solutions on a contract hire basis. The vehicle is the first 57-seat Interlink to be built for the UK.
Based on a Scania K 410 EB4x2 chassis and built to Taunton Schools specification to provide high levels of comfort and safety for its students, the coach features three-point seatbelts, USB charging points at each seat, a DVD player, pantograph lockers and Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels. The coach has a two-year repair and maintenance package and will be looked after by local Scania dealer, Scania Bridgwater, at its recently-opened state-of-the-art service centre.
The new coach further represents additional investment into the respected Taunton School transport fleet and is generating excellent feedback from the students, as well as positive comments from the drivers.
Scania Regional Account Manager, Richard Birt, commented: “Taunton School has an extensive transport offering for its students to cover daily transport needs, travelling to events, activities, trips and sporting fixtures all over the UK. With around 95 children using the transport for their daily journeys to school, approximately 5,000 miles are saved on individual car journeys, the fleet represents a significant reduction of carbon dioxide emissions every year. The new addition is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Taunton School’s transport fleet.”
A second Scania Interlink coach of the same specification is scheduled to enter service with the Taunton School fleet in the spring.
