As the fastest growing palletised freight delivery network in the UK, the United Pallet Network represents a revolution for the sector in more ways than one
At first, hearing that a business is not looking for every opportunity to grow sounds strange. But after speaking to United Pallet Network Managing Director David Brown, you understand why pursuing unfettered growth is not always the wisest business model.
“Whilst we are in the ascendency, we are by no means the largest network – but that is not something we are interested in,” said David, speaking to FACTS at the UPN stand at the CV Show 2019.
“As an organisation, we do not blindly chase volumes. What we do focus on however is member growth and development. Growing from just 18 hauliers at their launch in 2001, UPN now offers nationwide services through a UK network of more than 90 highly skilled independent hauliers in the UK, and European partners providing coverage throughout 26 countries.
Furthermore, UPN offers one of the widest range of pallet definitions available in the UK, from micro pallets weighing up to 150kg to full-size, 1200kg options. This guarantees all customers receive the best value for money possible.
“Catering for all manner of requirements is very important for us at UPN,” said David. “With this in mind, we offer a wide range of UK and Europe-wide services. In the UK, both a priority 24-hour service or standard 48-hour service are on offer.
“Equally, we can provide timed, Pre Noon, Pre 10am or Saturday services, and also accommodate tail lift and oversized deliveries too. This versatility, combined with unrivalled customer support, is one of many qualities that sets us apart from the competition.”

In addition, our innovative Customer Input System offers round-the-clock access to input consignment details and real-time freight visibility to ensure all parties have peace-of-mind as to the progress and welfare of their consignment.”
The UPN offering is proving to be attractive too with the addition so far this year of five high profile members to the network.
