BorderBus takes delivery of its first new Alexander Dennis Enviro400

Alexander Dennis announced that English operator BorderBus Ltd has welcomed its first new Enviro400 double deck bus to its fleet.

The Enviro400 bus provides 85 seats to give the Suffolk-based operator additional capacity for high passenger numbers on its services. The vehicle was handed over at the Alexander Dennis factory in Scarborough. This is the first Enviro400 that has been bought new by BorderBus.

The vehicle is being primarily used on the 146 service connecting Norwich, Beccles and Southwold, where it will provide passengers with a comfortable ride. The Enviro400 is a reliable addition to BorderBus fleet as well as a versatile vehicle that will also assist with other work for the operator such as private hires to festivals and other events.

Andrew Pursey, Managing Director at BorderBus said: “With passenger numbers on our local bus routes including our flagship 146 service continuing to grow, the Enviro400 offers us a great package with additional seats over our existing fleet. Thank you to Martin Dunleavy from Alexander Dennis for ensuring the bus was ready on time and for the fantastic hospitality experience when visiting the Scarborough site.”

Martin Dunleavy, Regional Sales Manager at Alexander Dennis added: “I’m happy to have been able to assist Andrew Pursey with purchasing a new Enviro400. This bus takes the passenger experience on BorderBus’s routes to a new level while also boosting capacity for busy journeys.”
