Enviro200 boosts Lloyds Coaches’ local service fleet

Alexander Dennis announced that it has delivered a new Enviro200 single deck bus to Welsh independent operator Lloyds Coaches, based in Machynlleth.

The family-run business will use the low-emission bus on its extensive network of local bus services around Mid and North Wales. At 10.8m length, the new Enviro200 has 40 passenger seats, with three-point seatbelts provided at all fixed seats. Accessible information includes next-stop announcements and a screen visible to wheelchair users.

The new bus joins five similar, but shorter Enviro200 which were delivered last year for the operator’s modern fleet. Like these, the latest bus uses Alexander Dennis SmartPack efficiency technology to reduce exhaust emissions and improve the fuel economy of its Euro VI engine.

Managing Director Dan Lloyd said: “Following the solid performance of our existing Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses which are delivering great fuel economy on our rural network, we are pleased to have chosen another Enviro200 for our local services. We expect that this bus will again be popular with our passengers and drivers.

“Aftersales support is very important to us as it keeps the vehicles doing their daily work. Together with AD24 service teams, Simon Wood has been very supportive of our company over the last 19 years ever since our first purchase back in 2006.”

Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager at Alexander Dennis, added: “Thanks to Dan and his team for choosing us for another new Enviro200. I’m sure this new low-emission bus will again be a reliable vehicle for Lloyds Coaches’ extensive network of local services, and will help keep operating costs to a minimum thanks to its efficient driveline.”
