Enviro200 is nippy addition to Prentice of Haddington fleet

Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., a leader in propulsion-agnostic bus and coach mobility solutions, today announced that it has supplied a new Enviro200 low-emission bus to independent Scottish bus company Prentice of Haddington.

The new Enviro200 is built to a length of 8.9m with a wheelbase of just 3.9m, making it a highly manoeuvrable vehicle that is nevertheless familiar to drivers and engineers as the operator already runs the current-model Enviro200 in other lengths. It offers a total seated passenger capacity of 30, including 25 fixed seats fitted with three-point seatbelts alongside five tip-ups in the wheelchair area and separate buggy bay.

Fitted with Alexander Dennis SmartPack efficiency technology combining engine stop/start, e-cooling and auxiliary load management, Prentice of Haddington’s new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 is certified as a low-emission bus1, delivering environmental benefits and better air quality in the communities served by the family-owned company’s bus services across East Lothian.

Managing Director Ross Prentice said: “The Enviro200 is the workhorse of our fleet, making up all our bigger buses. Alexander Dennis continues to impress us with the buses’ fuel economy, boosted by low-emission bus technology. The approachable and honest relationship we have with the sales and AD24 teams tells us that we can count on Alexander Dennis to understand our needs and meet our requirements.”

Charlie Miller, Retail Sales Director at Alexander Dennis, added: “It’s rewarding to see the Enviro200 continuing to play such a crucial role in the Prentice of Haddington fleet. Thanks again to Ross for supporting us with his new purchase. The process has been quick and easy for everyone involved, helped by our availability of retail stock to our new specification and close collaboration to swiftly move on his existing Enviro200 taken in part exchange.”
