TSV 1860 Munich is kicking off the new season with fresh lion power: MAN Truck & Bus has handed over an exclusive MAN Lion’s Coach C to the traditional Munich football club. The premium vehicle sets standards in terms of comfort, safety, and technical equipment. The partnership between MAN and 1860, which has been in place since 2006, is thus opening a new chapter.
At the official handover, TSV 1860 Munich’s managing director Dr. Christian Werner, team captain Jesper Verlaat, and goalkeeper Thomas Dähne accepted the keys from Dr. Marc Langendorf, Head of Communications & Government Affairs at MAN Truck & Bus. The new team bus will make its debut on September 6, when the Lions take to the road for the first time in their new vehicle for the Toto Cup match against FV Illertissen.

Luxury over 13.36 meters
The new MAN Lion’s Coach C impresses not only with its imposing appearance featuring 1860 branding, but above all with its exceptional interior. The players take their seats in 34 exclusive genuine leather passenger seats – each seat has a massage and heating function that can even be controlled individually via QR code.
Four vis-à-vis tables with integrated LCD monitors, a state-of-the-art multimedia system, and a professional kitchen ensure perfect communication and relaxation. USB-A and USB-C ports under each double seat, 230V sockets, and a Wi-Fi router ensure that the players can stay connected at all times.
As a special highlight, the coach projects the 1860 Lion logo into the entrance area when boarding – a symbol of the club’s pride and tradition. In addition, the RGB ambient lighting creates a unique atmosphere in the interior.
Safety and efficiency at the highest level
The 13.36-meter-long coach is powered by a D2676 LOH 6-cylinder diesel engine with an impressive 375 kW (510 hp). The automated 12-speed MAN TipMatic transmission with integrated retarder ensures a particularly smooth and efficient ride – perfect for the players to recharge during the journey.
State-of-the-art safety technology is naturally on board: ESP, LGS, Emergency Brake Assist, and MAN AttentionGuard ensure that the Lions always arrive safely at their destination. The innovative Birdview 360° system with four HD cameras and the MAN OptiView mirror replacement system with Cornereye function offer the driver optimum all-round visibility and enable safe turning and maneuvering.
