Centrebus takes two Enviro200 from Alexander Dennis

Alexander Dennis announced that it has delivered two Enviro200 single-deck buses to English operator Centrebus, for its Hulleys by High Peak operation in Derbyshire.

At a compact length of 8.9m, each bus seats 30. They are to Alexander Dennis’s stock specification, fitted with a real-time passenger information system, two scrolling screens and an induction loop for the hard of hearing.

The new buses will run around the Matlock, Crich and Alfreton area on routes 140, 141, 142, 143 and 319.

They are painted in cream and blue, the traditional colours of Hulleys of Baslow. Centrebus-owned High Peak Buses revived the Hulleys name in September 2025 after the operator ceased trading.

The purchase follows the successful delivery of 16 Enviro200 buses in 2025, which now operate on Centrebus, High Peak, D&G and Chaserider routes.

Centrebus is a privately-owned UK bus operator, headquartered in Leicester, that runs 400 vehicles across the East Midlands and northern Home Counties. It owns High Peak Buses in a joint venture with the Wellglade Group. It also owns D&G Bus, based in Stoke-on-Trent, and Chaserider, based in Cannock.

Jim Bates, Fleet Manager at Centrebus, said: “We’ve always been very impressed with the Alexander Dennis product: efficient, manoeuvrable buses perfect for rural routes, with fast delivery and fantastic back-up. We’re delighted to be putting these new Enviro200 buses onto the Hulleys by High Peak routes, where we’re sure our passengers will appreciate them.”

Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, said: “It’s always a pleasure to deal with Jim Bates and the team at Centrebus. We are pleased we could deliver these buses quickly in the Hulleys colours that mean such a lot to local people. The vehicles are going onto routes that run past the end of our street, so I’m looking forward to taking a ride!”
